Our story
weavano was born of Denizli’s centuries-old weaving tradition. To us, a peshtemal is never just a towel; it is a story woven from yarn, water, patience and skill.
Denizli and its surroundings have been synonymous with textiles since the days of ancient Laodicea. The hand looms of Buldan and Babadağ are living witnesses to a craft passed down through generations. weavano is built on that heritage: respect for old techniques, and calm design that suits today’s homes.
Instead of factory lines, we work with family-run workshops in Denizli. We produce in small batches, which lets us check the weave, selvedge and fringe of every single piece. Slow production is not a marketing promise for us — it is simply how we work.
Everything starts with the yarn: we use only natural, long-staple Turkish cotton. The warp is stretched onto the loom, the shuttle travels back and forth, and the pattern grows row by row. When a peshtemal comes off the loom, its fringes are knotted by hand, one by one. It softens with use and improves with every wash — unlike synthetics, it doesn’t wear out over time; it matures.
